Florida United Methodist Children’s Home

The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH) was established by the Annual Conference in 1908 in Enterprise, on the banks of Lake Monroe. It provides services to families and to children from birth to adulthood. Programs address physical, emotional, recreational, social and spiritual needs. During its long and valued history, it has helped shape the lives of more than 10,000 children and youth.
FUMCH’s residential care program provides school-aged children who have been victimized by abuse, neglect or family trauma, a family-style home, education, counseling, recreation and ministry opportunities. FUMCH also provides foster care, adoption services, and emergency shelter, an independent living program and child care to the public.

FUMCH receives no direct funding from the Conference, but local churches contribute more than $2 million each year in Fifth Sunday and Christmas offerings. Campaign goals for FUMCH include:
- $3 million to construct two new residential cottages
- Additional endowment funds to complete the Home’s $25 million endowment designed to provide future financial stability and expansion of services.
