Camps & Retreats Ministries

Camps & Retreat Ministries

Our Camps and Retreat Ministries have been a vital component in the spiritual life of the Florida Annual Conference for more than 60 years. More than 27,000 children, youth and adults participate in these programs every year, and the demand continues to grow. The Conference currently invests $525,000 annually to supplement revenue earned by the various camping and retreat programs. In addition, the Conference Board of Trustees maintains endowment funds of more than $1 million to support programs and maintenance, and additional endowment funds of more than $2.5 million to provide scholarships for campers. The Together! campaign will increase existing endowment programs and invest $10.5 million at four sites as follows:

  • Life Enrichment Center -- $4.5 million for renovations to four living units and construction of two new multi-purpose buildings with large and small meeting rooms, lobbies and gathering spaces
  • Warren W. Willis Camp -- $3.5 million for the renovation of Barnett Lodge and construction of a new boys’ lodge with meeting, living and sleeping space
  • Lake Asbury Retreat Center -- $250,000 for construction of four new pavilions to accommodate day care ministries
  • Riverside Retreat -- $2.3 million for renovations to the red pavilion and construction of a new worship and program center
